AI consulting covers the full scope from strategy to production. Our senior team of engineers, designers and data specialists works with you from first workshop through to live deployment and ongoing refinement.

So what do AI consulting services actually include? At Myth, an engagement typically starts with a strategy workshop and data audit at either our London or Belfast office. We assess your current systems, data readiness and the opportunities worth pursuing. From there we move into feasibility studies and prototyping, building a working proof of concept you can test with real users.

Once validated, our team takes the solution into production and handles integration with your existing tools and infrastructure. You walk away with clear deliverables at every stage: a prioritised AI roadmap, technical architecture documentation, a functional prototype and a production-ready deployment. The aim is to give you confidence in making decisions on how to implement the technology in a way that is aligned with your overall strategy to unlock your ambitions sooner.

Our expert team can then give you a tangible roadmap with timeframe and costs to give you transparency across next steps to make your decisions as informed as possible. The same strategists, data engineers and developers stay on the project should it progress. Our hope is that we become a trusted digital partner as you begin exploring AI capabilities within your business.

What does AI consulting cover?

Each engagement draws from five core service pillars, scoped to fit where you are right now.

  • Understand

    AI Strategy & Roadmapping

We map your business goals to realistic AI opportunities, then build a prioritised roadmap with clear milestones. You leave with a plan your board can act on.

  • Assess

    Data Readiness Audits

Our team reviews your existing data sources, quality and infrastructure. You get a frank assessment of what's usable today and what needs fixing before any model work begins.

  • Explore

    Discovery Sprints

Short, focused sessions run from our Belfast office. We define the problem, validate feasibility and produce scoped requirements, typically within a few weeks.

  • Build

    MVP Prototyping & Build

We design and build a working proof of concept your stakeholders can test with real users. Built on production-grade architecture so it won't need a rebuild later.

  • Ship

    Production & Optimisation

We deploy to Microsoft Azure, monitor performance and refine the model against live data. The same in-house team that built it handles the rollout.

  • Guide

    Ongoing Advisory Support

Post-launch, we help you measure impact, identify the next AI opportunity and keep your solution aligned with changing business needs. No long-term lock-in required.

How do you choose the right AI consulting partner?

Large consultancies often separate strategy from delivery. That gap is where projects stall. Choose a partner whose consultants also build the product, recommendations stay practical and ship on time.

We run in-person discovery sessions from our Belfast office, and our senior in-house team stays with you through production. No handoffs, no subcontracting.

  • Milestone-based delivery rather than open retainers

What Building AlphaVictor Taught Us

AlphaVictor needed a SaaS platform and companion mobile app to manage workplace environments. Our in-house team handled the full build, from discovery workshops through to production deployment on bespoke software and mobile. The stack ran C#/.NET Core on the back end, React on the front end, and React Native for the cross-platform app. Everything was hosted on Microsoft Azure.

The biggest lesson: getting a working product in front of real users early shaped every decision that followed. Feedback from live environments drove feature priorities far more effectively than assumptions made in a boardroom.

How does an AI consulting engagement work?

Every project is different, but most AI consulting engagements follow this shape.

  1. Consultation and Scoping

We meet at our Belfast office to understand your goals, constraints and data landscape. You leave with a clear problem definition and agreed scope.

  2. Discovery Sprint

Our in-house team runs workshops, audits your data readiness and maps opportunities. This typically takes two to four weeks and produces a prioritised roadmap.

  3. Strategy and Roadmap Delivery

We present findings, recommended architecture and a phased plan with milestones. You get a document you can act on, not a slide deck that gathers dust.

  4. MVP Prototyping and Testing

We build a working prototype, test it with real users and iterate. Timelines vary, but most MVPs reach testable form within a matter of weeks.

  5. Production Build and Deployment

The same team that ran discovery builds the production system inline with your strategy

  6. Optimisation and Ongoing Support

Post-launch, we monitor performance, refine models and respond to real-world feedback. We stay involved as long as the project needs us.

Discovery through production
  • Founded in 2015

We started as a small, senior team focused on building digital products properly. That principle hasn't changed: the people you meet are the people who build it.

  • Belfast office opens on Howard Street

Based on Howard Street, we host you in our offices for in-person discovery workshops and user testing with Northern Irish businesses.

  • AI and data capability grows

Our team expanded to include data and AI specialists working alongside engineers and designers. We began delivering LLM integrations, readiness audits and proof-of-concept builds.

  • AlphaVictor reaches production

A full SaaS platform and mobile app built end to end by our in-house team. It validated our approach to taking complex products from discovery sprint through to live deployment.

  • In-house team across two cities

Engineers, designers and AI specialists split between London and Belfast. No offshoring, no subcontracting. Every project gets the same senior team from kickoff to launch.

  • Milestone-based delivery model matures

We refined our engagement structure around clear milestones and deliverables, giving clients transparency at every stage. It keeps scope honest and budgets predictable.

Is AI consulting right for you?

A great fit

  • You have appetite to utilise AI technology in your business and need defining an approach
  • You have specific business problem you suspect AI could solve
  • You have data, or you want to assess your data readiness honestly
  • You want a phased approach with clear milestones
  • You value in-person workshops and a local Belfast partner
  • You're prepared to undergo discovery phase to properly define the approach

Not the right fit

  • You want a generic chatbot bolted on with no strategy behind it
  • You expect AI to transform your business overnight
  • You have no budget for discovery and want to skip straight to an undefined build
  • You want a vendor who'll agree with everything rather than challenge your assumptions
  • You're looking for off-the-shelf software, not a tailored solution

How much does AI consulting cost?

Every engagement is scoped individually, but these frameworks give you a realistic starting point for budgeting. We'll refine the numbers during discovery.

AI Consulting vs AI Development

They're related but distinct. Consulting is the strategy layer: identifying where AI creates value, assessing your data readiness and scoping a realistic roadmap. Development is the build layer: engineering, integrating and deploying the actual solution into your business or product.

  • Consulting covers audits, workshops, feasibility studies and prioritised recommendations you can act on.

  • Development covers architecture, model training or integration, production deployment and ongoing iteration.

  • Our in-house engineers and AI specialists handle both strategy and build from our Belfast office, so there's no handoff between firms and fewer gaps between what's scoped and what ships.

FAQ

AI consulting FAQs

What are AI consulting services?

AI consulting identifies where artificial intelligence can create measurable value in your business, then scopes a practical path to get there. Typical deliverables include a readiness audit, opportunity mapping, data assessment, a prioritised roadmap and, where appropriate, a working proof of concept.

How long does an AI consulting engagement typically take?

A discovery sprint usually runs two to four weeks. From there, timelines depend on scope. A proof-of-concept build might take a few more weeks, while a production deployment runs longer. We scope every phase with clear milestones so nothing drags on without purpose.

What's the difference between AI consulting and AI development?

Consulting focuses on strategy: identifying the right problem, assessing data readiness and building a roadmap. Development is the engineering work that follows. We handle both in-house, so the transition from strategy to build is straightforward.

Do I need AI consulting before building an AI product?

Usually, yes. Jumping straight to development without validating the problem, data and approach is a common reason AI projects stall. A short discovery sprint reduces that risk significantly and gives you a clear brief to build against.

Which AI consulting firms operate in Belfast?

Belfast has a growing tech scene, but few agencies combine local presence with hands-on AI delivery. We run in-person workshops and discovery sessions. That local access matters for face-to-face collaboration.

What data do I need before starting an AI project?

You don't need perfectly clean datasets on day one. Part of our discovery sprint is assessing what data you have, where the gaps are and what's needed to move forward. We'll help you understand quality requirements before any build begins.

Can AI consulting work for small businesses in Belfast?

Absolutely. Small businesses often benefit most because they can move quickly. A focused discovery sprint helps you find one or two high-impact opportunities without committing to a large programme of work.

What happens after the discovery sprint finishes?

You'll have a prioritised roadmap, a clear brief and typically a proof of concept. From there, we move into phased development with milestone-based delivery. The same in-house team that ran discovery builds the product, so nothing gets lost in handover.
